Our school and school board has launched a campaign to show how we can make our buildings safe, inclusive, and welcoming places that are respectful and accepting of gender and sexual diversity.

We will be installing a Positive Space sign in our building. The sign will say, “This is a place where all people are respected, and where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and two-spirited people, and their families, friends, and allies are welcomed and supported.” There will be people in our school who display Positive Space stickers. These people will be open to answering any questions and can offer support to sexual and gender minority people, their families, and their allies.

Thinking and talking about where to install this sign is helping us to understand the experiences of our diverse community. We invite you to join us in our continuing journey to provide positive school environments for all.
