Riverside Public School (RPS) students and staff recently participated in Plan A Senior Care Staffing & Recruitment’s Santa for Seniors Program.
The initiative, which has now been running for the past three years, encourages individuals to create holiday cards that are later distributed to seniors in long-term care residences throughout the Nipissing, Simcoe, Muskoka, Grey Bruce, and York Region who might not have family to celebrate with during the holiday season.
In total, RPS created just under 400 uniquely crafted festive cards, which will be given to seniors in Muskoka!
“Students welcomed the opportunity to reach the community with this simple act of kindness, recognizing the impact of giving to others and the joy that it brings to both the giver and the receiver,” said RPS Junior and Senior Kindergarten teacher, Kendra Lane.
